Core Groups
We are committed to implementing group life through Core Groups.
All groups – men’s & women’s groups, life stage groups, and mixed groups – give themselves to meeting regularly, and these groups are organized around the “C.O.R.E. 4” practices:
Centred on God’s Word
Whether doing a topical study, a biblical book study, a discussion/study based on the Sunday sermon, or a “triad” that discusses group member’s own personal study from the Bible, all groups are committed to making reflection on God’s word a key element of group life.
Open Circle Plan
All groups have a plan for how they will either keep their group circle open to new members, regularly inviting new people into their group, or have a concrete plan to spawn new groups from their group.
Relational Discipleship
The purpose of studying God’s word is not just to be informed, but to be transformed. Small groups, and individual relationships that come out of small groups are the best way to continue on the path of becoming more like Jesus.
Expressions of Service
All groups plan to have a monthly “community service” commitment. This service could be the weekly meeting, or in addition to the weekly meeting.
